Breath of the Wild 2 Delayed
Originally planned for a release in 2022, Nintendo recently announced that Breath of the Wild 2 will be delayed to Spring 2023.
The fans seem to be in good spirits over the delay. Nintendo has been giving us plenty of good games recently, and there are still plenty to come in 2022, so I guess the fans can forgive Nintendo for working a little too hard and falling a little behind on some things.
Furthermore, the delay only affirms to the fans that the game will be as polished as the original, and even more grand. After Cyberpunk 2077's disastrous and scandalous launch, I'm sure no gamer will ever regret a developer delaying the release of an anticipated title to a later date.
Although Nintendo had been a little too silent on Breath of the Wild 2, I was still hoping for a 2022 release date. The reason I held onto their original release window is because Nintendo doesn't usually announce anything until it is almost fully complete. For Nintendo to give a release date for a game, it means the game is practically done, if not entirely done. For example, Kirby and the Forgotten Land wasn't even announced until Fall of last year, and it released less than half a year after its original announcement. Even crazier, there is a new main Pokemon entry being released later this year; until its announcement last month, no one even expected it.
Whatever awaits us in 2023, I'm sure it will be well worth the extra 3 to 6 months or so we have to wait for it.
