Knowledge is Not Action

Knowledge Itself is Not Action

Knowledge is not action. Action is what counts.

Using knowledge to do something is awesome. Using knowledge to tell someone some random fact is not awesome.

Knowledge is not impressive. Action is impressive. If knowledge enables one to do more, then that knowledge has proven to be useful. If that knowledge sits there and does nothing but repeat itself back to as many people as possible, then that knowledge has not proven to be useful.

Wisdom

"A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:" - Proverbs 1:5

Proverbs is a book about Wisdom. A wise man seeks knowledge and understanding. Wisdom concerns itself with discernment and making decisions. Decisions determine which action will be taken. So, yes, knowledge does have an important role to play in taking action. Without knowledge, one would act as a fool.

Knowledge and understanding are not substitutes for action - they are tools for wisdom, which is used for determining which action to take.
