The reality is that life as a Software Engineer has its long days and normal days. Usually the crunch happens around release time. That's no excuse for not working on my own projects, but it's certainly the cause for why I'll be reading tonight instead of writing.

Yesterday, I wrote that "sleep is free." Tonight, I'll comment that reading is also free, in that it doesn't really tax your mind as much as other activities. If you're reading in a language you're fluent in, and below your reading level, then it's particularly free.

Tonight, I'll probably enjoy the little bit of time left before bed by reading. I have a lot to catch up on.
