I don't like the try-hards on social media who try to push their content or products. I get that's a huge part of it, but I just don't like it. I don't like people who use "social" media as "marketing" media. People are social creatures, and we generally like interacting with each other. But I don't like when people exploit our natural love of communication to sell something.

I think Robot Ops and other games and projects of mine do need some exposure, though. I'm going to find a way to share what I like with others without trying to sell them something. I will post links to my games, and I will be direct about asking people to buy them, but I'm not going to use Twitter or Instagram as marketing platforms. I simply want to find people who would enjoy my games. If you say that's what marketing is, then most companies' marketing departments feel like sales departments.
