No Matter the Weather, A Day is Still a Day
It has been unusually cold this winter in San Diego. By that I mean a high in the low fifties during the day and low in the low forties during the night. Here in So Cal, our lives aren't built for weather. Our rooves aren't prepared for rain, our walls aren't ready for insulation, and our clothes lack the gear for warmth. We don't have good heating options for the house, either, so it usually ends up being fairly miserable inside.
I usually find myself wearing 4-5 layers of hoodies, sweaters, and scarves. I don't have a wool coat, wool socks, thermals, or anything else suitable for the cold. Also, a lot of that gear would be too much for 45 degree weather. We're just in an awkward place where the weather feels particularly cold and our lifestyles don't have the means to deal with it.
A few 50 degree days can be nice. A few weeks straight of that, and it feels like suffering.
I've noticed that I started to slack in the evenings while working on my personal projects. But here's the point of today's point: no matter what the weather is, it's still one day of my life. It's still my responsibility to make the most of it and use it as I would any other day.
The best option is to take measures to mitigate the weather as much as possible, move past it, and get to work as usual.
That said, I do prefer the Fall for my big projects. That seems to be when I shine the most.
