Upcoming Movies
I thought I was completely done with superhero films. But it seems like there are still a few exceptions to that rule, as there are two upcoming superhero movies that I'm not only planning on seeing, but looking forward to seeing.
The first of the two films would be The Flash. This one is still looking weird to me. But I'm not one to think Ezra is reason enough to not watch it. I think his interpretation of The Flash is not ideal, but it's not terrible. He comes off like a slightly more annoying version of Seth from The O.C. I still think the character is interesting because his power is interesting - superspeed is arguably one of the best powers to have.
Finally, who can resist wanting to see Keaton as Batman again? I didn't think I would fall for the nostalgia, since those films were released when I was a little too young to enjoy them, but here I am actually excited to see Keaton reprise one of his iconic roles. I think what got me was his smirk in the trailer - Keaton just adds a certain charm and playfulness to the character that hasn't existed since the 90s. And also, the original Batman music is the best. I don't want to miss that.
The second film is coming out next year, I believe. It's Deadpool 3. I consider the Deadpool movies to be parodies of superhero movies. This time, Hugh Jackman will join Deadpool and presumably act as the straight man. I think he'll work out better than Josh Brolin's Cable simply because audiences already know Wolverine. I hope that Marvel doesn't get too Multiverse-y by then, though, as that would be the only thing that I can imagine being able to ruin this movie.
But, as I've said before, I'm still pretty much done with Superhero movies. The next movie I'm going to see is Operation Fortune. Guy Ritchie usually does a good job with action films, so I'm expecting some good movie night entertainment there.
